On Monday, December 28, 2009, representatives of the Agency for Development of Mazovia, Krzysztof Filiński, President of the Management Board, and Piotr Popik, Member of the Management Board, signed an agreement with Grzegorz Benedykciński, Mayor of Grodzisk Mazowiecki, to build the Interdisciplinary Innovativeness Center in Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

The main objective of the Innovativeness Center is to stimulate economic and social development at the local and regional level by providing professional and technical support to companies, offices and institutions with respect to innovative technological solutions. Primary tasks, which the initiators want to be completed by the Innovativeness Center, include developing and promoting innovative approach, building base for innovation-based enterprises through incubation and effectively implementing new products, services, technologies and processes on the commercial market.
According to „Rzeczpospolita” ranking of 2009, Grodzisk is the best commune in Poland. It meets numerous requirements for building the Innovativeness Center within its territory, such as good transport connections, qualified personnel, infrastructure, etc. Building the Center is to be financed from the EU funds.
